Our annual Arts Week is a highlight of the school year at Widcombe Infant School because the creative arts is so important to our curriculum. It not only gives opportunities for the children to develop their creativity but also provides exposure to a range of Arts professionals. Our theme this year was the weather and children worked with Zosia in Art exploring hot and cold colours. In dance the children worked with Olivia creating dance routines to weather songs, including Singing in the Rain. Our Forest School practitioner, Miss Wildy, provided opportunities to make snow globes and wind chimes using natural materials. James, a musician, visited with his brass instruments to play a range of music linked to the weather which the children enjoyed participating in. Sam led weather drama workshops. It was a fantastic week in which the children learnt new knowledge and skills.
