Widcombe Infant School in the Community

Many visitors, including parents, come to share their special interests with the children and contribute their particular expertise. Topics range widely but on occassions are related to special projects, like the alloments. Sports coaches, artists, musicians and theatre companies regularly visit the school to work with the children and extend their experiences.

Parents who help in school on a regular basis, assisting with trips, reading, art activities, computer work, cookery, sewing, manning the library or gardening with the children, have a significant effect on the school and allow the school to provide activities or opportunities which would otherwise prove impossible. At various times through the year parent’s feedback and ideas are asked for. This helps the school to continually develop and improve. Widcombe Infant School aims to maintain and extend the positive working partnership with parents.
