International Day is a very important day for our children and their families, as they celebrate countries around the world which are special to them. The children come to school in traditional clothes from their special country or in clothes showing the colours on the flag of their special country. Many of the children also brought in a flag of their special country and some brought in artefacts from their special country to share with their classes. This year each class explored a country in depth, exploring where in the world the country is located, learning to say some words in the language, tasting some traditional food and learning traditional dance from the country.

Class 1 explored Wales
Class 2 explored Portugal and Madeira
Class 3 explored Brazil
Class 4 explored Thailand
Class 5 explored Germany
Class 6 explored Egypt

The day finished with a carnival style parade around the locality which was watched by the children’s families. The children were joined on the parade by our Trust CEO Mrs Donna Tandy and our Trust Teaching and Learning Partner Mrs Claire McMurtry.
