Remembrance Day was a special day in which the whole school came together to demonstrate our Trust’s value of respect. Throughout the week all the children had been finding out why we have Remembrance Day and the significance of a poppy. They also used a variety of mediums to create poppies including Reception children painting a field of poppies and Year 2 children using colour mixing to paint their own poppy inspired by the artist Georgia O’Keefe. We began Remembrance Day with Class 6 leading assembly for the school and their parents, in which they shared their learning on Remembrance Day and recited a poem to explain why we have Remembrance Day. At 11 o’clock the whole school gathered on the playground to keep the two minutes silence, before our wreaths of poppies were laid.

We will remember them.
